What is lime mortar?

Lime mortar is a traditional pointing material and was most commonly used in construction until the early 20th Century. With a such a large amount of older Edwardian & Victorian buildings across Manchester and Cheshire, many of our current homes and buildings require lime mortar pointing for correct brick repair and restoration. Using the wrong type of mortar in a brickwork restoration or repair project can be extremely damaging.
